Cornelis De Witte was a canon of Antwerp cathedral and a frequent censor of Abraham Verhoeven's* Nieuwe Tijdinghen*. Issues of the Nieuwe Tijdinghen passed by De Witte were marked "V.C.D.W.A.": Vidit Cornelis De Witte Antuerpiensis.
